Collection: Art Dolls

Art dolls have a history spanning thousands of years in nearly every culture and I find them fascinating.  An art doll can take on many forms and meanings. They could represent actual people who have passed (as in La Catarina dolls), the idea of a person or animal (as in the spiritual icons of many religions and indigenous peoples) or they may simply come from the imagination. I really enjoy the process of making art dolls as each unique character comes to life before my eyes. These dolls are not usually intended to be played with by children. I work in clay, wire, plaster and fabrics to make my art doll sculptures and each is one of a kind.
